HOW ?

THE MISSION

        It is not widely known that around one third of goods vehicles in the UK are making empty return trips from their delivery destinations. Our solution is simply to provide a backload service, which allows any road haulage company or distributor to advertise or find a return load (backload), thereby reducing the number of empty goods vehicle journeys on our roads (and therefore, hgv traffic congestion, diesel air pollution and road accidents caused by goods vehicles) by up to around 30%

Traffic congestion

        The government has announced measures which are supposed to produce a better transport system, nation-wide, for us all. Our web site is, at the very least, trying to reduce road congestion from goods vehicles by a (theoretically) possible 30%, with no support, financial or otherwise, from our government (which stands to save millions on highway repairs and national health expenses to traffic accident victims, asthma sufferers etc. due to services such as this)

        Because the vast majority of goods moved from our freight exchange are moved as return loads and not outbound loads, a conservative estimate of Loadup's contribution to reduction in road usage by goods vehicles in the last 12 months is:
(average loads arranged weekly=450) x (average miles per load=225) x (weeks in year=52)

More than 5 million vehicle road miles per year. 5,000,000 hgv.miles/annum

This also equates to approximately 23,400 vehicle journeys removed from our roads per year

        Our hauliers are deserving of much higher respect by all of us, especially our government, whose legislation and fuel taxation is driving many hauliers out of existence. They perform a thankless and dangerous daily task, with the most unthinkable antisocial hours, providing the backbone of our comfortable way of life. Without hauliers, life would be a miserable affair, it is unnecessary private motoring which should be demonised.

Diesel pollution

        It is now a matter of public record that the particulates emitted by diesel and petrol combustion are damaging the nation's health. The younger you are, the more the damaging effects, asthma in young children being an especially debilitating result of our greed for acquiring unnecessary goods and transporting them around. Maybe we can never stop people wanting more and more, but at least we can cut down drastically on needless movement of diesel vehicles by ensuring that all goods delivery vehicles can find a nearby load for the return journey.

Global Warming? you're having a laugh, try Global Hysteria

        Global warming is a happy natural phenomena of our present time and in many times past. It has nothing to do with human efforts OR carbon dioxide and should simply be appreciated by those of us who shivered through the global cooling of the fifties, sixties and seventies.
        Current pretexts regarding global warming due to carbon dioxide, started by the loony scare mongers and now propounded by political propaganda, is a complete distortion of the real earth sciences, most likely in order to further justify the expansion of nuclear power stations, save thousands of unworthy or useless jobs which depend on it or even hold back third world country development, but whatever reasons may be true or implied, the end result will shift wealth upwards to the already rich and greedy from everyone else by forcing unnecessary taxation on us in this "noble cause", business as usual
        If you have been believing this distortion of science which tries (and succeeds!) to persuade us that CO2 causes global temperature increase instead of the opposite way round, i.e.. that temperature rises cause increased CO2 after a few years delay, check the science of global warming due to increased sunspot activity which diverts more of the cloud forming cosmic rays, compared with the science of global warming due to increased carbon dioxide and then hopefully you will see that some scientists and politicians are massaging the facts and statistical analysis to their own devious ends
        If politicians told the truth, that we should cut excessive energy consumption so that energy/oil hungry western countries will stop warmongering to procure the oil, and that every pound of all taxation raised to deter us from exhausting fuel supplies would be used to balance global inequalities and reinvested in cleaner energy programs, the general public would be equally supportive, there is no need for the same old misdirection, spin and lies

        Yes we should all be 'Green', recycle everything, save energy, buy free trade, hug a tree etc.. for the sake of the planet and our environment, just don't allow politicians and scientists to hijack the good work by scaring you with apocalyptic, "PAY FOR YOUR CARBON OR DIE" tactics to steal even more of your hard earned in taxation, our planet has feedback balancing systems which have prevented runaway doomsday scenarios for millennia, how arrogant to believe that human efforts could push it over the edge, where extremely massive outpourings of volcanic greenhouse gases and asteroid impacts have failed for more than 4 BILLION years

Having read all the above, do not believe for a moment that our (desperately needed) hauliers are the culprits. Private motoring is causing the overwhelming majority of all these road related problems - After all, how many trucks do you see taking obese progeny to and from school?
