So, what's the point of Loadup for people who need to transport goods?

The point is that our haulier members are constantly on the lookout for return loads rather than returning empty from an outbound delivery, and are therefore prepared to carry loads at a reduced (backload) rate. This not only makes our service attractive to private individuals needing to move goods on the cheap, e.g. a single item of furniture from A to B at an economical price or a full house removal or even something bought or sold on ebay, but for some larger businesses already utilising our service, huge annual savings on their transport costs are already being made

Business users however, are likely to post many loads per week/month and to save time, once you have posted your first load, your details will be stored and automatically filled in for you, making posting a very quick and easy process in the future. Just click on a 'Post a Load' link, fill out the form carefully, especially the first time, and wait for the phone calls

One-off loads

These stay on the system from 1 to 7 days, selectable when posting your load, they are then automatically deleted to keep the system up to date. If your load still hasn't been arranged, you are invited by email to post it again for a further 1 to 7 days.

When a load has been arranged and is no longer available, all users are expected to remove their loads/quote requests without delay, in order to avoid wasted enquiries.

Multiple ongoing loads

Larger companies having several ongoing loads available on a daily/weekly basis can conveniently elect to leave them on the system longer, but must update them every month to confirm and ensure that all work on the system is still current. We also have a multiple load posting facility where shippers with many daily loads can post up to 20 loads at a time with a single click of the mouse using automated form population.

Our only proviso to business users, is that you expect to pay a reasonable backload rate ( 60% - 70% of standard rate), we discourage the use of our system to demean and devalue the haulage industry by accepting rates which could only be described as cynical

Whenever you post a load, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a 'Load Management' link. This makes it a simple process to remove your load(s), once arranged.

What is the return load / backload rate?
Many variables are involved - weight, distance, size/capacity of vehicle, fully loaded or part loaded, ferry involved?
There is no accurate answer but an approximation would be to find out the average price you would need to pay a local haulage company if you were to book an outbound consignment, then negotiate or make an offer in the region of 60%-70% of this, you should state on the load posting form that a backload rate is required.
If you need a consignment delivering urgently, you should expect to pay a standard outbound rate.

HAULIERS, COURIERS, REMOVAL EXPERTS - ACCESSING AVAILABLE LOADS:

The first point to note is that we do not get involved in any arrangements between hauliers/couriers and the customer with 'goods to move'. We make no extra charges whatsoever.

Loadup enables hauliers, carriers, removal experts etc. to contact potential customers directly, before they start calling around for quotations. We provide you with all the information and contact details, the rest is up to you. To view the full listing of all current loads, click here

Note: we do not operate an available vehicle system. It is unnecessary to provide a reverse engineered facility where shippers search for empty vehicles, when all that is required is for hauliers/couriers to search for return loads. Having said this, our message board gets used mostly for this purpose.

Subscription for access to the members area, where all loads and the contact details are displayed, is available from just £15.00 per month. Subscriptions can be made in all European currencies by visa or mastercard. Members get unrestricted access privileges to all contact information. No bidding / auctioning etc.
