How Loadup's Delivery Quote System Works
Our UK and Europe-wide network of hgv hauliers and light haulage couriers really do need and appreciate the opportunity to transport goods or house removals cheaply as return loads (aka backloads or backhauls), instead of travelling empty from an outbound delivery, so customers can get loads delivered at a reduced backload or return-load rate, saving 50%-70% on a normal delivery service.
Since Loadup began in April 2000, we have matched and moved over 1.2 million loads for over 95,000 users (statistics last collated July 2015). This is what Lord Alan Sugar meant when he said "Loadup provides the icing on the cake for the road freight industry" when appraising our service.
Wherever you are in the UK or Europe, there will be an empty van or truck going back to where you need a delivery every day, because some of our hundreds of transporter members will be making that return journey in the near future.
Having large heavy or bulky items (more than 30Kg) delivered at the return-load rate is much cheaper than booking a local courier for a dedicated outbound delivery.
All transporters are vetted and rated, so that confidence in our system is maintained.
How It Works For Customers Needing Delivery Quotes:
There is no need to register to list goods or removals for delivery, our service is completely free, our transporter members will quote you directly with a price for your delivery or removal with no obligation whatsoever. Loadup does not get involved with any negotiations or financial transactions.
Private users needing to move a single item to a house removal, can use a simplified version of the delivery submission form for light haulage Go There Now to list your delivery needs on the system.

Most loads are stored on the system for maximum of 7 days, but should be deleted by the customer when arranged to prevent further enquiries, they are then automatically removed if not updated, to keep the system up to date
Users will be invited by email before deletion to update their load for a further 5 days if it hasn't been arranged.
Regular Loads and Heavy Haulage
Mainly for business users with many available daily loads which can conveniently stay on the system for up to 3 months. They can easily be updated prior to automatic deletion for another 3 months. Note that any transporter or freight forwarder can use the system to post or sub-contract excess work without subscribing.

Once a load has been arranged and is no longer available, all users are expected to remove their loads/quote requests without delay, in order to avoid wasting our transporters time on enquiries or quotes.
How It Works For Transport Providers (Hauliers and Couriers):
We do not get involved in any arrangements between transporters and customers, no extra charges.
Loadup enables transporters to contact potential customers before they start calling around for quotes.
We provide all relevant information and with sophisticated matching technology, we ensure the most suitable transporters, by location and vehicle type, get in contact with suitable customers using instant email alerts or by manually searching on-site, as and when required.
As a transporter member, you will be able to send quotes for jobs to customers. If the customer is a private individual who doesn't submit telephone details, you can send quotes via our messaging system because we do not divulge their email address for data protection reasons.
If the customer is a business user, we provide the phone number so you can contact them directly or still use our messaging system if you prefer.
All arrangements and price negotiations are between you and the customer, Loadup does not get involved afterwards in any way.
This is a professional system and never will be a down-bidding (reverse auction) site.
What you should know about Loadup Freight Exchange
- Loadup is not owned by a transport company. Many online freight exchanges are.
- There are no charges whatsoever to use all the system facilities, except for transporters accessing loads posted here who pay a subscription fee to supply quotations to customers.
- Most Importantly, Loadup is not a reverse auction site where any transporter can get free access to our valued customers, our transporters pay a reasonable subscription fee and are continuously rated for professionalism and reliability.
- There are no grades of membership, all members have equal access.
