Debi CorkOur removal companies have been moving people to and from all parts of Europe since April 2000. We consistently find you the cheapest possible quotes by arranging to move household goods either by return loading or by sharing vehicle space with a small removal, known as a part load, getting you the best price relocations, removals and deliveries to or from Ireland. It is because Loadup has so many removal companies and transport company members in the UK and Europe, we are more able to find you a better price quotation than enquiring with a single removal company.
Using empty vehicles already returning to Ireland, you will get cheaper quotes compared to booking a dedicated delivery, this is known as back loading in the transport industry. In recent years, thousands of people have benefited from reduced prices by using Loadup. This is what Lord Alan Sugar meant when he said "Loadup provides the icing on the cake for the road freight industry" after reviewing our service.
Moving House Checklist Tips and Advice
When moving house to Ireland or another country in Europe, there are more things to take into account than moving within the UK so consult or print out this government guide from the gov.uk web site
The Gov UK site also has essential information for British nationals residing in Ireland which gives guidance on subjects such as Entry Visa & Residency Requirements, Education, Healthcare & Health Insurance, Benefits & Social Security, State Pensions & Life Certificates, Driving Licences / Vehicles and Motor Insurance Regulations in Ireland
Living in Ireland guidance.
Moving home can be a stressful time but you can make things run more smoothly by spending some time on preparation and following the tips and advice here on our checklist.
Your main concern should be finding a removal company who has experience of arranging house moves to and from Ireland.
Our removal companies have gained a wealth of knowledge about the pitfalls over years of moving people, whether within a country or to other european countries, so make use of their knowledge and advice, especially when moving outside of the UK to another country.
The logistics of the move is why you are here, to book a reputable company and have your requirements set down, preferably by written contract. After you post your relocation on Loadup, our transporter experts who regularly make deliveries to and from Ireland will contact you with quotes based on the information you give, so give as much as you can for an accurate quote.
Quotes are sent through our messaging system, when you receive a quote you like, contact the removal company who sent the quote and discuss your requirements in full.
All our removal experts carry plentiful blankets and straps and other devices to protect your belongings whilst in transit and have declared goods-in-transit insurance cover, but you should check both your own contents insurance small print for moving house, the amount of the transporter company's goods-in-transit cover and you should also check for cover in case anything goes awry and cancellation or postponement is necessary. Make sure any cover is valid for both ends of the journey.
Paying a little extra for packing at both ends will take an enormous load of your shoulders, it's not expensive and is well worth it, if you want to discuss any of these things with a potential removal company, say so in the extra details section of the form on the next page after giving you contact details.
If you are packing yourself, buy enough strong moving boxes and plenty packing tape and bubble wrap.
Some things to bear in mind are:
Will all your furniture get through your doors at both premises?
Will there be room for the van or truck or can you arrange space on the day with neighbours?
If you are going to need storage, ask for the removal company's advice.
Here is some advice apart from the actual logistics of the move.
- Label cases and boxes by room, or unpacking will take much longer.
- De-register and re-register with GP surgery.
- Use the Royal Mail Postal Redirection Service, it will help protect you against identity theft.
- Notify Council, banks, pension, loans, credit/debit card providers, insurance, employer, HMRC.
- Contact your phone, broadband, energy and water providers and get connected at the other end.
- Top Tip: carry your own kettle, tea bags, coffee, sugar and milk.
